Report: Two DWI Offenses In Less Than 24 Hours
By KRWG News
Cloudcroft – New Mexico police say a Cloudcroft man has been arrested on suspicion of his fourth DWI offense and his second in less than 24 hours.
Officers arrested 36-year-old William P. Cook on Sunday night after receiving reports of a wrong-way driver on U.S. Highway 70 west of Roswell. Authorities say Cook was arrested after a breathalyzer test showed his blood-alcohol level was at .31 percent.
After spending the night in jail, police say Cook got his pickup truck from a towing service and was found passed out Monday afternoon near a road on U.S. 70 in Roswell. Police say Cook failed roadside sobriety tests again and a breathalyzer test had his blood-alcohol level at ,035 percent almost four times the state's legal limit for driving a vehicle.
Police say Cook is being held without bond at the Chaves County Detention Center on charges of DWI, driving on a revoked/suspended license and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.
