New Mexico Election Update

Las Cruces, NM – In unofficial results from the state's website New Mexico's five electoral votes went to presidential candidate Democrat Barack Obama. Obama received fifty-six percent of the popular vote while Republican candidate John McCain received forty-three percent.
In the State Senate race Congressman Democrat Tom Udall defeated opponent republican Steve Pearce. Udall garnered sixty percent of the votes as compared to Pearce's forty percent.
In the Second Congressional District race Democrat Harry Teague won with fifty-three percent of the votes while Republican Edward Tinsley earned forty-seven percent.
