New License Plate Benefits Farm And Ranch Museum

Las Cruces – The latest specialty license plate in New Mexico will benefit the state's Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.

It features a silhouette of a windmill against a yellow, orange and red backdrop and is now available through the state's Motor Vehicle Division for all New Mexico residents.

The cost is $37 in addition to standard automobile registration fees, with $25 going to support educational programs at the Las Cruces museum.

Officials say the money raised will go toward the museum's Big Yellow School Bus Fund, a program developed in 2006 to help schools offset costs of a field trip to the museum. A school is typically charged $100 to $300 for each bus needed for a field trip.
