Las Cruces Water Rates Going Up December 1

Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) alerts customers that effective December 1, 2018, a monthly increase in water rates will be implemented. For the average residential water customer using 10,000 gallons per month that means a $2.25 increase.

The increase was approved following a comprehensive Water Rate Review process involving

● A review by an independent consultant (Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.),

● Extensive customer outreach by the Utility Customer Advisory Group (UCAG),

● Recommendation by the LCU Board of Commissioners, and

● Final approval by the Las Cruces City Council.

This is the first increase of a 3-year phased-in water rate increase. The second year, water rates will increase by $1.78 for the average residential water customer using 10,000 gallons per month, and then $1.97 per month the third year.

You can call Las Cruces Utilities at 575/528-3500 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Las Cruces Utilities provides GAS – WATER – WASTEWATER – SOLID WASTE services to approximately 100,000 Las Cruces residents and businesses.
