Las Cruces Police Arrest man for Attacking and Threatening Another

Las Cruces, NM – A twenty-nine year old man was arrested in Las Cruces, Wednesday evening, after he allegedly attacked and threatened another man.

According to the Las Cruces Police Department, Ruben Payan Hernandez attacked a twenty-five year old man at a home on the 2300 block of Abilene Court.

Just before seven pm, on Wednesday, police officers say Payan threatened the man with a butcher knife and punched him several times during an altercation. The twenty-nine year old man fled the scene but was arrested a short time later off of University Avenue.

Payan was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a 5,500 dollar bond. He faces aggravated assault and battery charges.
