A vehicle crash has forced the closure of Bataan Memorial West and the outside lane of Highway 70 westbound, beginning at Sonoma Ranch Boulevard.
Las Cruces Police are investigating the crash. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible. The vehicle involved in the crash came to a final stop near Highland Elementary School. The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. At least one person was injured in the crash.
Motorists traveling westbound on Bataan Memorial West are being diverted to Sonoma Ranch Boulevard. Only the left, inside lane of Highway 70 west beginning at the Sonoma Ranch Boulevard exit is open. Motorists traveling westbound on Highway 70 are asked to follow directions of law enforcement personnel on scene.
All traffic lanes heading eastbound on Highway 70 and Bataan Memorial East are open.
