Bingaman and Environmentalists Applaud Reinstatement of 'Roadless' Areas in National Forests

Las Cruces, NM – Late last week United States Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that nearly 60 million acres of special roadless' areas on National Forest land will be given interim protections. Weed And Seed Program Reaches Out to Local Youth

Las Cruces, NM – James Woods: "We have two summer camps. Our first camp is called camp defy. Drug-education for youth. Uhm, our second camp is for the teens. Just some different activities just to give'em some eye openers on what's out there if they make bad choices."

U.S. Border Czar Visits El Paso

Las Cruces, NM – The recently appointed U.S. Border Czar, Alan Bersin was in El Paso today to discuss the Obama Administration's efforts to curb drug-related violence and illegal activity along the U.S./Mexico Border. Congressman Harry Teague Announces New Bill Aimed at Addressing PTSD

Las Cruces, NM – New Mexico's 2nd District Congressman Harry Teague was in Las Cruces today/yesterday to announce a new bill intended to address the issue of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD among military personnel and combat veterans. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, the legislation would make mental health screenings mandatory for military personnel upon introduction into the military, before and after deployment and before discharge.
