By KRWG News

New Mexico – According to a copyright poll in Sunday's Albuquerque Journal, Gov. Bill Richardson's job approval ratings have plummeted.

According to the poll, 33 percent approve of the governor's performance in office, 63 percent disapprove and 4 percent are undecided.

Richardson's office says the major difference between the last election in 2006 and today is a worldwide financial crisis.

His office says his accomplishments will be remembered.

Sixty-two percent of those who disapprove of Richardson's job performance say they'll vote for Republican Susana Martinez in the Nov. 2 gubernatorial election, while 22 percent say they'll vote for Democrat Diane Denish.

Research and Polling Inc. of Albuquerque conducted the poll by questioning 403 registered voters by telephone Aug. 23-27.

The margin of error is plus or minus 5 percentage points.
