Rewards In Two Las Cruces Armed Robberies

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the men involved in two unrelated armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday Las Cruces Police were called to the Family Dollar store at 745 north Valley Dr. after two Hispanic men entered the store and demanded cash from an employee. One of the suspects displayed a knife.

Witnesses described one of the suspects as around 5-feet-4 to 5-feet-6-inches tall and wearing a gray sweatshirt with a burgundy cap. The second suspect was described as wearing a dark flannel shirt and tan pants. Both suspects were said to have facial hair and one was said to have a long ponytail. They both fled the store on foot.

The second armed robbery on Tuesday occurred just before 9 p.m. at the Quik Check store at 161 east Madrid Ave. There, two men entered the business and both displayed weapons while demanding cash.

The suspects in the Quik Check robbery were last seen leaving the store in a beige, older-model four-door vehicle. One of the suspects displayed a handgun while the other carried a knife.

Both suspects were said to be Hispanic. One was described as being in his 30's, around 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and jeans. The second suspect is possibly 18 to 19 years old and was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
