Report: NM Woman Assaulted Federal Agent

A 32-year-old New Mexico woman is facing charges after authorities say she assaulted a female Homeland Security Investigations agent and threatened to slice her throat.

Cimarron Archuleta, of Bloomfield, N.M., recently was arrested in connection with the alleged assault during a multi-agency raid of a drug trafficking ring in northwestern New Mexico.

According to federal court documents, Archuleta struck a female agent in the chest with her handcuffed hands, then told the agent, "I'll slice your throat."

Documents say Archuleta also said she would find the agent later.

She is facing charges of assault on a federal agent and resisting arrest.

Archuleta's attorney, Wayne Baker, did not immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press.

Close to 30 people are facing charges in connection with the trafficking ring.
