Poll: King Leads Chandler 52% To 32%

By KRWG News

New Mexico – Democratic Attorney General Gary King holds the lead over Republican challenger Matt Chandler in a new poll as the candidates head into the final month of campaigning for the Nov. 2 election.

The Albuquerque Journal reports in a copyright story Tuesday that King is supported by 52 percent of the voters and Chandler by 32 percent, with 16 percent undecided.

The poll was conducted by telephone Sept. 27-30 by Research & Polling Inc. of Albuquerque with a scientific statewide sample of 941 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Research & Polling president Brian Sanderoff says Chandler would have to pick up undecided voters and convert some King supporters to win the New Mexico attorney general's race.
