Las Cruces – Three juveniles are targets of a Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department investigation into multiple counts of vandalism and mail theft.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. today, a sheriff's sergeant stopped a vehicle in the Shalem Colony area.

The vehicle was occupied by three 17-year-old juveniles -- two males and one female - who were found to be in possession of numerous pieces of mail.

Sheriff's deputies discovered that numerous mail boxes along Shalem Colony Trail, Rocky Acres, Chavez Road, Whispering Pines Court, Meadow Lane and Taylor Road were vandalized and their contents removed.

The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department is asking victims of any such vandalism to contact the Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority at (575) 526-0795, in order to file a report.

Sheriff's deputies are sorting through the pieces of mail, in an attempt to locate the owners of the pieces of mail and property. The United States Postal Service will be notified.
