NMSU Extension Service Offers E-book Publications

KRWG News – LAS CRUCES, N.M. (krwg) New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service is going mobile.

The service is now offering its publications for e-readers and other mobile devices.

Nearly two dozen publications are online now and can be downloaded. The plan is to convert the last two years of the organization's publications into HTML, PDF and e-book formats while producing future publications the same way.

Current e-book topics include food and nutrition, horticulture and health, agronomy, livestock and family resource management.

Publications supervisor Ana Henke says the goal is to make available information in a mobile format that would allow a farmer in the field to read about crop disease, or someone in their kitchen to use their mobile device to follow instructions for making cinnamon rolls.

The service says new publications are posted frequently.
