New Mexico Unemployment Office Starts "Call Back" Feature

By KRWG News

New Mexico – New Mexico's toll free unemployment insurance telephone line has added a "call back" function, also known as virtual hold.

It allows people to have the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions call them back rather than remaining on hold until someone picks up the line.

The agency had tested the "virtual hold" system for several weeks before incorporating it into the unemployment insurance's existing self-service option.

It gives the customer the choice to stay on hold or have the department call back in a set amount of time.

That essentially holds the customer's place in line without keeping them tied to a phone.

The function was launched Dec. 22.

It's available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
