New Mexico Jurors See Photos Of Couple's Remains

Prosecutors in the New Mexico murder trial of an ex-fugitive have shown jurors photographs and X-rays of human remains from the crime scene in remote eastern New Mexico.

Forensic experts testified Thursday in the trial of defendant John McCluskey that the remains belonged to Gary and Linda Haas of Tecumseh, Okla.

The couple's identify was confirmed after sorting through evidence found in their burned-out travel trailer.

Pathologist Michelle Aurelius says heat from the blaze reduced the husband and wife to less than 10 pounds each of cracked bone fragments and charred tissue.

Prosecutors have accused McCluskey of shooting the couple after he, his former prison bunkmate and an accomplice targeted them for their truck and trailer while at a New Mexico rest stop in August 2010. The three were on the run following a prison break days earlier in Arizona.

Authorities believe the trailer was burned to get rid of evidence.
