New Mexico Gets New Area Code

Las Cruces, NM – The state of New Mexico is getting a new area code beginning October 7th. last year the Public Regulation Commission voted last year to add the 5-7-5 area code because New Mexico is running out of telephone numbers. As KRWG's Jessica Borchert reports, the change will affect all of southern New Mexico and some of the northeastern part of the state.
