Las Cruces, NM – The Border Network for Human Rights held a press conference today in Chaparral, New Mexico to speak out against the Otero County Sheriffs Department. They claim the Department violated the rights of a number of local residents while conducting increased patrols last week, as part of a federally funded border security program called, 'Operation Stonegarden'. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, at least 17 people were deported as a result of the patrols which took place in Chaparral last Monday.
