Las Cruces Municipal Court Expands Hours In January

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Municipal Court Chief Judge Melissa Miller-Byrnes announced today that the court will be increasing its hours of operation to better serve the public.

Beginning January 3rd, 2011, the court will be open to the public 45 hours per week, and will begin an evening court session for scheduled hearings. The court will also be open during the noon hour.

New court hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday. According to Miller-Byrnes, depending on the success of scheduled evening court sessions, the sessions could expand to include walk-ins.

"We know that many people have to take time away from work and other responsibilities to conduct business at the court, so we want to make it as convenient as possible. That's why we will open early, stay open during the noon hour and after five, and add an evening court session," Miller-Byrnes said.
