Silver City – The Western New Mexico University Museum will kick-off its 35-year anniversary year-long celebration with a visit by author Anne Hillerman and photographer Don Strel on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Global Resource Center Auditorium.
Hillerman, daughter of the late Tony Hillerman, and Strel will be speaking about their new book Tony Hillerman's Landscape: On the Road with Chee and Leaphorn. The book showcases the landscapes described in Tony Hillerman's seventeen mystery novels through Strel's stunning photography of the Navajo-area geography.
Immediately following the presentation, a reception and book signing will take place at the WNMU Museum at 4:00 p.m.
In celebration of the WNMU Museum's 35th anniversary, the event is open and free to the public.
