Good News For NMSU

Las Cruces – New Mexico State University is ranked No. 19 on the list of Top 100 Undergraduate Degree Producers in the category of Hispanic bachelor's degrees by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. The same publication ranked NMSU No. 20 for Native American bachelor's degrees and No. 69 for total minority bachelor's degrees.

NMSU's highest rankings in Hispanic baccalaureates were in education, ranking number six, and engineering ranking number 13. Hispanic baccalaureates at NMSU were also recognized in the areas of biological and biomedical sciences and business management, marketing and related support services coming in at numbers 32 and 27 respectively.

For Native American baccalaureates, NMSU's highest ranking was in education at number 21. NMSU also ranked at 32 for biological and biomedical sciences, 27 for engineering and 44 for social science and history degrees.

The data for these rankings is collected by the National Center for Education Statistics from all U.S. postsecondary institutions as part of the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data Set.

The types of colleges and universities that were included in this study are those that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as eligible to distribute federal student aide (have a Title IV status), located in the 50 states or the District of Columbia and are not military service related.
