Gas Prices Stabilize
New Mexico – Triple-A New Mexico says gasoline prices in the state have finally stabilized after nearly a month of continuous increases.
The travel association says the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular costs $2.68 in New Mexico, the same as the national average. However, that's still 13 cents more than New Mexicans were paying for gas at this time last year.
A gallon of gas is selling in Albuquerque for $2.62, while Santa Fe's $2.67 a gallon is the most expensive in the state.
Triple-A New Mexico says the price has stabilized because oil prices are now less volatile and petroleum consumption is down.
