DEMING, N.M. – The Deming Headlight reports the concrete foundations will support the 28 turbines that each measure about 264 feet in height.
When it's up and running the wind powered turbines are capable of generating about 1.8 megawatts each or 50 megawatts generated by the entire farm.
The project is situated on approximately 1,900 acres in Northeastern Luna County. Once finished officials say the farm is said to have enough production capacity to power more than 20,000 homes.
The generated power will be sold to Tucson Electric and transmitted via an El-Paso-Electric-owned transmission line.
