Santa Teresa, NM – A former Santa Teresa teacher has been arrested on sex charges. The U.S. Marshal's office, New Mexico State Police and Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office arrested David M. Arrey, 42, of the 5700 block of Butte Dr. in Santa Teresa.
Arrey was arrested on a warrant for five counts of criminal sexual penetration in the fourth degree.
He previously coached at Santa Teresa High school and was a physical education teacher from October 2008 through May 2009.
During this time, he developed a sexual relationship with a student at the school.
Arrey was actually arrested at his mother's home in Los Lunas, N.M. after a week long search.
He will be transported back to Las Cruces later this week where he will be held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
