New Mexico – New Mexico's candidates for governor came out swinging in a final debate of the campaign.
Republican Susana Martinez and Democrat Diane Denish jabbed at one another throughout a debate in Albuquerque televised Thursday on KOB-TV.
Denish repeatedly said that Martinez would side with corporate interests and at one point held up an invitation to a Martinez fundraiser that had been hosted by a lobbyist for the payday lending industry.
Martinez criticized the record of Democratic Gov. Bill Richardson's administration or what she called the "Richardson-Denish" administration.
Denish has served as lieutenant governor since 2003. Martinez is the district attorney in Dona Ana County in southern New Mexico.
