Familiy Dollar Armed Robbery

Las Cruces – Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Las Cruces discount store.

Just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, Las Cruces Police were called to the Family Dollar store at 745 north Valley Dr. after two men entered the store and demanded cash from an employee. One of the suspects is said to have displayed a knife.

Witnesses described one of the suspects as Hispanic, around 5-feet-4 to 5-feet-6-inches tall and wearing a gray sweatshirt with a burgundy cap. The second suspect, also Hispanic, was described as wearing a dark flannel shirt and tan pants. Both suspects were said to have facial hair and one was armed with a knife.

The suspects were last seen leaving the store on foot. A nearby elementary school, MacArthur Elementary, was placed on lockdown for roughly 30 minutes while officers searched the area for the suspects but to no avail.
