El Paso Cheating Scandal Fallout Continues

Some parents and students are upset as the embattled El Paso Independent School District board considers removing four principals and four assistant principals.

Texas education officials are seeking to replace the school board amid a testing scandal. The U.S. Justice Department has been asked to decide whether that would be proper.

A petition has been circulated to keep one current principal and about 200 parents, school employees and students on Friday protested a plan to remove another.

The four principals have been placed on paid administrative leave. The El Paso Times reports the board Tuesday is to consider whether the administrators should be removed or not have their contracts renewed.

A former EPISD superintendent last year was sentenced to more than three years in prison over the testing scam.
