Dona Ana County Commission Votes To Support Marriage Equality

The Dona Ana County Commission has voted to support County Clerk Lynn Ellins' decision to enforce marriage equality.  All commissioners voted in favor of the resolution, with the exception of District 3 Commissioner Benjamin Rawson.  Rawson was recently appointed by Governor Susana Martinez to fill the seat of former Commissioner Karen Perez.  Martinez opposes marriage equality.

The actual text of the agenda item that commissioners approved: "Accept a Resolution Supporting Marriage Equality and the Decision by Doña Ana Clerk Lynn Ellins to Issue Marriage Licenses to Couples Regardless of Gender."
