Las Cruces,NM – This Tuesday will mark the start of a year long curbside recycling program in Las Cruces. Roughly 1,000 households in the North Main Street/North Triviz area will be given a plastic bin to place recyclable materials. The pilot program will help the city council decide if it would be good public policy on a city wide basis. Like El Paso, Las Cruces right now only has drop off recycling. Klause Kimmer, is the Solid Waste Administrator Las Cruces says a small amount of residents use the drop off sites, but most put their trash curbside.
