Boil Order Lifted In Ruidoso

Ruidoso – Residents of Ruidoso no longer have to boil water before drinking, cooking or washing dishes.

New Mexico Environment Secretary David Martin lifted a precautionary boil water advisory for the village of Ruidoso late Tuesday.

The department issued the advisory after water lines froze or ruptured because of sub-zero temperatures that impacted New Mexico two weeks ago and caused a natural gas outage.

Residents had been asked to boil water for 5 minutes.

Martin says chlorine residuals and water pressure throughout the Ruidoso water system now are stable. Water samples showed no signs of contamination.
