Big Plans For El Paso Baseball

  The Famous San Diego Chicken, the ZOOperstars!, 12 nights of fireworks extravaganza and more than 20 giveaways, highlight the El Paso Chihuahuas inaugural promotional schedule.

Dedicated to offering something for everyone, the Chihuahuas will also feature recurring weekly promotional specials that include Military Mondays, Seniors Eat Free Tuesdays, Kids Eat Free Wednesdays, Thrifty Thursdays, Fetch the Fun Fridays, fireworks on Saturdays, and Kids Day Sundays.

Opening Day kicks-off six days of giveaways including rally towels and commemorative tickets (April 28), magnet schedules (April 29-30, May 1) and the first in a five-set Jersey Pin Collector series on Friday, May 2. The first 2,000 kids (12 and under) through the gates on May 4 will receive a Chihuahuas shirt.

The Famous San Diego Chicken on Sunday, July 13, highlights the list of performers. The Russian Bar Trio begins the entertainment season on Sunday, June 1 and the ZOOperstars! come to El Paso on Friday, June 13 with BirdZerk! two days later on June 15. Breakin’ Boy McCoy closes out the featured guests on Aug. 15.

The Chihuahuas will celebrate “Baseball in Education” on April 30, May 13 and May 28, with all games slated for an11:05 p.m. first pitch. Baseball in Education offers school districts the opportunity to experience an out-of-the-classroom educational environment.

The first of three Military Appreciation Nights begins Saturday, May 17 with military also receiving promotional specials on designated Mondays throughout the season (May 5, May 12, June 2, June 9, June 16, June 30, July 21, July 28,Aug. 4, Aug. 18, Sept. 1).

The much anticipated Bark at the Park will be on May 18 and Aug. 3. Fans will be allowed to bring their dogs to Southwest University Park. Dogs must be vaccinated and on a leash to be permitted into the park.

Fans can purchase individual game tickets beginning Saturday, March 15 at epchihuahuas.com and at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center lobby. The box office will close Sunday and will reopen at the Abraham Chavez Theatre Box Office beginning on Monday, March 17 and will continue Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 10a.m.-4 p.m. through Opening Day.
