Las Cruces, NM – San Ysidro is known as the patron saint of farmers and ranchers. According to legend, he was a poor Spanish farmer who spent his time praying rather than plowing his fields. To reward him for his faith, God sent him an angel to help with the plowing. KRWG's Lily Olivas was recently at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum for the 7th annual Fiesta de San Ysidro, which was kicked off with a ceremony to bless the fields.
