Anthony Homicide Suspects Sought

Anthony, NM – Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrests of the two men wanted in the Jan. 17, 2010, shooting death of 39-year-old Jorge Rey Monje of El Paso, Texas.

Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office investigators have obtained warrants for the arrests of Juan Castillo, 22, of Anthony, N.M., and 26-year-old Ricardo "Ricky" Castillo of Chaparral, N.M.

Juan Castillo is charged with an open count of murder, tampering with evidence and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Ricardo Castillo is charged with tampering with evidence and battery.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of Tierra Huichol Circle in Anthony, N.M., at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, after a physical altercation resulted in several gunshots being fired. At least one of the shots struck Monje who died from his injuries.

Juan and Ricardo Castillo were last seen leaving the scene of the shooting in a 2005, silver, Nissan Altima with New Mexico license plate JZR457.
