Finance Authority Committtee Meets With Local Government Officials

Las Cruces, NM – The New Mexico Finance Authority Oversight Committee held a series of meetings in Dona Ana County last week. The committee which is made up of State Senators, and Representatives, heard from local government officials about their upcoming projects, financial needs and concerns. Hatch Mayor, Judd Nordyke spoke to the committee about his communities need to create a flood control district around the Placitas Arroyo.

Otero Mesa Decision- Some Happy, Some Not

Las Cruces, NM – There soon may be drilling in the Otero Mesa grasslands in the Tularosa Basin. A recent decision by a judge in Albuquerque rejected a lawsuit by environmental groups who tried to stop drilling for oil. Veterans Protest Against Pearce

Las Cruces, NM – The Veterans for Ethics in Government group joined by the Kissling for Congress campaign, protested outside of U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce's office in Las Cruces yesterday. Sun News Announces Friday Extortion Deadline- City Stays Mum

Las Cruces, NM – While Las Cruces is offering a $25,000 reward for information on the extortion threats the City has received, the Sun-News has announced the letter they received sets Friday as the deadline before threatened random shootings would start. Las Cruces, NM – Last week the New Mexico Courts, Corrections and Justice Committee held public forums on the campus of New Mexico State University. The committee is made up of both State Senators and Representatives, was briefed on the implementation requirements of the REAL ID Act of 2005.
