Police Arrest Three Men in Connection with an Armed Robbery

Las Cruces, NM – Las Cruces Police officers arrested three men wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday evening.

According to a press release, Anthony Serna and brothers Tony David Brown and Andrew Brown of Las Cruces went to a residence located on Ethel Avenue intending to take money from the victim.

Udall Applauds Interior Secretary Nomination

Las Cruces, NM – New Mexico Congressman Tom Udall on Wednesday applauded President-elect Barack Obama's decision to nominate U.S. Senator Ken Salazar of Colorado as Secretary of the Interior.

In a press release, Udall commented on the importance of the Interior Secretary's role. He says the position has the key responsibility of protecting America's natural inheritance and to honor the commitments the nation has made to Native American tribes.

Holiday Closures

Las Cruces, NM – On Wednesday, Dona Ana County Officials announced the upcoming holiday closures at the government offices. Most of the county offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, December 25th and 26th in observance of the Christmas Holiday.

Dona Ana County Employees will also be off Thursday, January 1st. According to county officials, emergency and law enforcement personnel on the field will not have the days off--however, the Sheriff's Department offices will be closed during the holidays.
